That’s why they will soon be launching over 20 new routes to exciting destinations across the globe.

Tickets can already be purchased directly on United’s easy-to-use app or website.

Expansion Into Asia

In total, United will be serving 27 exciting destinations throughout Asia in 2023. However, not all 27 places are new to United’s offerings.

Denver-Tokyo and San Francisco-Hong Kong were already recently resumed routes, but there are 2 new ones that may pique traveler’s interest:

  • Washington, DC to Tokyo, Japan
  • Los Angeles to Tokyo, Japan

3 New International Routes From Newark

It was recently announced that United would be restoring a former route straight to Dubai.

Operating out of one of United’s major hubs, Newark Liberty International Airport will serve as a springboard for a few of the airline’s most anticipated flight options this year.

Located within a short distance from New York City, Newark, NJ is easily accessible for both New Jerseyans and New Yorkers.

The Newark-Dubai route has already launched in late March, but there are 2 more that may be equally compelling:

  • Newark to Malaga, Spain
  • Newark to Stockholm, Sweden

Flights to Malaga will begin May 31, operating with 3 flights each week on a Boeing 757-200.

United has more flights to Spain than any other domestic carrier, so this is the icing on the cake.

Beginning May 27, jet setters will be able to fly direct to Stockholm. United took about a 4-year hiatus from Stockholm flights, but travelers will soon be able to visit the city known as beauty on water.

More Flight Options to Europe

Those bit by the travel bug should get ready to pack their passport because United is going full force with their international offerings.

Aligning with their ambitious Summer plans to have over 100 international cities in their network, the popular airline will offer various flights throughout Europe’s finest places.

All of these routes will be brand new and launched on May 25:

  • Chicago to Shannon, Ireland
  • Chicago to Barcelona, Spain
  • Washington, DC to Berlin, Germany
  • San Francisco to Rome, Italy

Travelers can hop on board a Boeing 757-200 to perhaps one of the most underrated European destinations.

Reaching Shannon will be easier than ever since there will be daily flights offered from Chicago.

United is the only domestic carrier to offer nonstop flights to Shannon to take in its magical scenery.

Chicago will also offer flights to one of Spain’s joyous places – Barcelona. Taking flight on a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, travelers will be blown away by what the city has to offer.

Flights from one capital to another will be offered daily between Washington DC and Berlin.

This will be the only nonstop flight to Berlin from the U.S. capital.

  • Amman, Jordan
  • Azores, Portugal
  • Tenerife, Spain

In addition to these off-path locations, they will be giving life to other previous seasonal routes of last year:

  • Newark to Nice, France
  • Denver to Munich, Germany
  • Boston to London, U.K.
  • Chicago to Zurich, Switzerland
  • Chicago to Milan, Italy

Unfortunately the article is skimpy on ending times. Which flights were seasonal and when they do/did they start and end? Reading this on 1 Oct 2023 there really is no info if the seasonal flights have ended.

Cross your fingers flying with United. If they decide to cancel your flight because of undersold seats you can expect zero concern or compensation. United don't GAF about their passengers.

Useful info but I do not think you can call United the leading carrier TATL or TPAC. United are strong on B routes but any airline that does not fly the major A routes like Heathrow to JFK is hardly a leader. American and Delta have much stronger JBA links and are definitely not in second place to United. I know TPG is always keen to promote United but normally you are a bit much accurate.
