JetBlue is having a busy year fulfilling travelers’ dreams of exciting places across the globe. Now, there are a pair of Caribbean destinations much easier to reach thanks to 2 new flight options.
Time just doesn’t seem to slow down this year as we are now in November, the perfect time to plan your sunny winter getaway.
Whether you are the type to venture out for the holiday season or not, the brutal cold waits for no one. As soon as you feel your first windchill, you know you will be daydreaming of an exotic beach escape.
Of course, many airlines offer a plethora of flights to sunny destinations, but we’ll take a look at where JetBlue is now flying as of this week.
The Most Popular Destination In The Dominican Republic
Is anyone surprised Punta Cana is the number one destination in the Dominican Republic? Surely not at this point.
It has been booming with tourists for years now, especially when the world all but shut down. There are so many great aspects of Punta Cana it would be tough to name them all.
What may top the list as most intriguing is it’s one of the most accessible exotic beach destinations. With its own international airport, this resort mecca is super easy to reach from the U.S. mainland, where you will have minimal connections, if any at all.
Not only is it world-renowned for its gorgeous resorts, but it’s also a very family-friendly place to escape for a sun-soaked vacay.
The new Katmandu theme park is the icing on the cake for family fun, as well as some of the best beaches in the Caribbean, such as Bavaro.
Of course, you’ can’t forget all the thrilling excursions and tempting all-inclusive amenities that may come with your stay at some of the best resorts in the Caribbean.
JetBlue is making it even easier to reach with new nonstop flights straight from Orlando, Florida (MCO).
The schedule is as follows:
- Orlando (MCO) to Punta Cana (POJ) offered daily at 8:54 a.m.
- Punta Cana (POJ) to Orlando (MCO) offered daily at 12:25 p.m.
Another Dominican Destination Surging In Popularity
Visiting a bustling city may not immediately come to mind when considering a trip to one of the top beach destinations on the planet.
However, many travelers are falling in love with the cultural city of Santiago de los Caballeros. To save us some syllables here, we’ll simply go with ‘Santiago’ from here on out.
Santiago is located on the northern side of the Dominican and has no beaches. Not that you couldn’t use the city as a pit stop or gateway to nearby beaches.
In fact, that’s what many travelers do. Either way, many tourists are finding themselves taken aback by how much they love Santiago.
It may not be as common to make Santiago your main destination, but travelers who have passed through would recommend doing the same at the very least.
There is a unique charm to the city with a vibrant culture you will instantly gravitate toward. You will feel right at home with the friendly locals and plentiful hotels throughout the city.
And if it just doesn’t happen to meet expectations, at least take a selfie at the Monumento de los Héroes de la Restauración and spend a little time learning about the region’s rum and cigar industry.
World-class beaches are just a short ride away, such as the small beach town of Puerto Plata.
JetBlue is offering another new nonstop flight to Santiago (STI) from Orlando (MCO).
The schedule is as follows:
- Orlando (MCO) to Santiago (STI) offered daily at 8:00 a.m.
- Santiago (STI) to Orlando (MCO) offered daily at 11:15 a.m.
Other New JetBlue Routes
JetBlue has made a splash with new route announcements as of late. This Dominican duo is not the only new Caribbean route, as the popular airline will also fly from New York to St. Kitts.
Those wanting to venture out further into the world and see more cultures can fly nonstop to Europe as well.
JetBlue will fly nonstop to both Dublin, Ireland and Edinburgh, Scotland, beginning spring of 2024.
