The True Perks of the Million Baht Club:

No extra charges –

A couple could essentially stay in the hotel for 1 year and never have to pay for anything out of pocket except the upfront hotel charge. Since breakfast is included, along with evening canapes and drinks, plus the $550 USD monthly food credit, it would be tough to actually encounter a bill.

If you consider a couple living on $91 a day, with food, accommodation and gym included in one of the nicest cities in the world, it’s hard to not imagine making this your reality.

Remember, there are no water, electricity, cable, internet, or other types of bills on top of this amount.

Great for busy professionals –

You’d never have to lift a finger with the included laundry, housekeeping and concierge services, so you can spend more time on your business or with your clients instead of chores.

With unlimited Wi-Fi, you are always connected, and if you have issues the hotel is there to make it right for you. No more waiting for technicians to come to your house 9 days later to fix your home internet.

The lap of luxury –

The type of lifestyle you can have at the Hyatt is pretty incomparable to that of a normal apartment lifestyle.

You have access to meeting spaces that would cost a fortune in other parts of the world, take afternoon breaks on the 6th-floor outdoor pool, call the limo to take you to the airport, sip free wine while watching the sunset over the city, crush your fitness goals in the insanely nice gym, etc.

Let’s take a deeper look into the hotel itself, the type of room included in this deal, and some of the common spaces.

The Hotel

The Hyatt is a 5-star hotel with an amazing location with direct access to the BTS skytrain and within 1 mile of many markets and shopping malls, like the Emporium. It’s also quite new, opening in November of 2018.

Regency Club Lounge

All guests in the 1-year stay program get daily access to the Regency Club, which is a 2,981 sq ft. indoor/outdoor lounge on the 27th floor that offers stunning views of the city through its floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The Restaurants

There are 3 restaurants on-site where guests can use their $550 USD/m credit.

  • The Market Café (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
  • The Lobby Lounge (evening snacks and drinks)
  • Spectrum Lounge and Bar (dinner, snacks and drinks)

The Club Lounge also serves free continental breakfast and daily snacks/drinks.

We looked at the menu for The Market Café where guests would likely eat most of their meals to check and see if the prices were over-inflated, but considering they are at a 5-star hotel, they’re actually quite agreeable!

  • Pad Thai = $9
  • Truffle Scrambled Eggs = $9
  • Arugula and Veggies Salad Bowl = $8
  • Green Papaya Salad = $8
  • Chicken Green Curry = $11
  • Fried Sea Bass = $15
  • Coconut Ice Cream = $8

While of course food can be found cheaper in the streets of Bangkok, spending your food credit within the hotel will actually take longer than you think!

But wait – Can people travel to Thailand right now?

Yes. While entry isn’t the same as usual and it includes a strict quarantine, testing, and a few other Covid-19 related entry requirements, travel to Thailand is once again possible for all nations.

All in all, the Hyatt’s offering is one that I am sure many remote workers and digital nomads will jump on and it sets the stage for many other hotel chains to follow, which brings much excitement for what’s to come in the travel world for 2021.

Eager travelers can book this over on Hyatt’s offer page, or by emailing their director of sales.

Editor’s Note:

If I wasn’t head over heels in love with where I live right now (Mazatlán, Sinaloa) I would be on the first flight to Thailand to take advantage of this deal. As a full-time travel writer, I can hardly keep my Visa in my wallet as I cover this story. It’s one of the most enticing offers I’ve ever seen, especially as we’ve all been missing hotel stays. Sure you can stay in apartments in Bangkok for less, but nothing is quite like the hotel lifestyle.

I'm a full time traveler and this is the first one of these all-inclusive deals that I'm tempted by (the year at the Maldives resort sounded like hell). My goal for 20021 has been to not travel as much, so I had initially applied for and received the remote worker visa in Georgia, but have opted out of going there as I ended up securing a year visa for Japan... If wasn't going back to Japan, I'd probably jump all over this.

The comparison of this to a $200 / month airbnb or even a 1k a month airbnb in Bangkok is absurd. While you cold à la carte a luxury lifestyle in Thailand for similar money, you'd still be missing a lot of the benefits of this deal, and spending a lot of effort and time to put it together.

Yes Jon, I completely feel you on this! In my digital nomad world, time is money, and when I can stay at a property where I don't have to set anything up and everything is just done for me, that saves me SO much time and brainpower. Trying to set up some of the included offers like private limo drives, medical check-up, rooftop parties, daily housekeeping, etc takes effort for sure. Even the F&B credit takes the "where should we eat today" mentally draining task off the table ;)

Plus I like the location hack of having the hotel pay the millions of dollars and years of research on the area for the hotel, so that I don't have to!

I know this doesn't resonate with all nomads, but for some like you and I, it really does!

An interesting proposal! I’ve lived at this particular Hyatt property in the past - some great things, but definitely some not so great things.

There are better options than taking an offer like this one. They should be able to come through with a more creative example to attract tourism. Each time it is a different story for entry requirement that could make your head spin.

Anyone can live like a celebrity in a posh well designed villa in Bali for example. Any nomad with a deeper pocket can actually take an advantage to own a villa after the local government has relaxed the law for foreigners to own and build in Bali or Lombok for that matter. Easy visa requirement without the small prints.

Nah, it's a crap deal to be honest. At 9$ a and Thai as the cheapest option. You would be running 600$ a month with pad thais alone. At that monthly rate you can live in luxury in Thailand anyways, with all the freedom.

Not such a great deal for those of us who are single by choice especially in pandemic times! Are they going to offer us half price for single occupancy? I doubt it! I'd rather wait for the $200/month Airbnb. Thanks.
