Grand Fiesta Americana - Best All Inclusive Resort in Puerto Vallarta
Sometimes you just crave some R&R, having everything figured out for you and just sitting back. This is where an All Inclusive Resort hits the nail right on the head.
We returned! (How could we not) This resort won our hearts last year and we needed to make a return before the secret is out of how sensational it is!
I guess you could call us a little high maintenance when it comes to any All Inclusive type resort, so we have HIGH expectations. This time around, the Grand Fiesta Americana met and exceeded every one of them! I have to admit: We usually don’t particularly like All Inclusive Resorts, but the Grand Fiesta Americana changed our mind – Best All Inclusive Resort Puerto Vallarta, hands down.
The Room -- The Governor Suite
I dare you to find a hotel room with a better balcony or view of the ocean. Due to the fact this hotel is built so close to the water, the feeling of the balcony is one of literally floating over the waves.
The balcony has large sliding glass doors, a raised jacuzzi tub surrounded by dark wood planks with a jungle, mountain and ocean view, dining for 6, lounge chairs, and a red couch. I would estimate the sq ft of the balcony to be around 700 sq ft? (So basically, GIGANTIC for a resort.) It’s breathtaking to say the least, in a way you simply can’t stop admiring.
Inside the Governor Suite:
FULL guest bath (or husbands bathroom in Trevor’s case), dining area with side board, mini fridge and sink, living area with corner windows, couch, TV; sliding door to bedroom with chaise lounge, heavenly king size bed; sliding doors to 2 closets, double sinks, shower which makes up the elite class master bath. Bedroom also has another balcony (which you can also see the ocean from bed from)
Waves can be heard as you fall asleep and because of the location of this particular room, we only had 2 other guest rooms on our entire FLOOR. Very private!
- Over 1000+ Sq Ft
- 1 Bedroom
- 2 Bathrooms
- Outdoor Hot Tub
- HUGE Ocean Front Terrace
We stayed in the Governor Suite for 8 nights in Dec/16. Disclosure: The hotel did not host our stay but did upgrade a portion of it.

Why the Grand Fiesta Americana is the Best All Inclusive in Puerto Vallarta 'THE REVIEW':
Grand Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta is for:
- People who want an All Inclusive experience
- People who want a lively resort with lots going on at all times
- People who aren’t big on city walking and prefer to lounge by the pool with unlimited delivery of ice cold drinks
- People who like modern and chic decor
Check in: Easy and fast. The grand lobby with beautiful ocean views, premium bar and cool pacific breeze is sure to leave a wonderful first impression.
Wifi: Wifi has improved from last year. We clocked download speed at 30MBPS in the suite (which is excellent for Mexico!) We were able to upload videos, go ‘LIVE’ in the suite and use the internet with no interruptions.
Wifi at the pool can be slower at peak times, but still works at it’s turtle pace without going down completely.
Food: They have everything from a snack bar in the lobby, to the Grand Club for appies, casual fare near the pool, to upscale a la carte for dinner.
Breakfast: D’Brick (buffet)
Lunch Restaurants: D’Brick (buffet), Shore Grill (pub style), La Cevichera (seafood)
Dinner restaurants: Guilietta (Italian), Roja Corazon (Mexican- reservation), Yuu (Asian- reservation), D’Brick (buffet), Serrano (Tapas/Sushi- near lobby)
The food is great and you have options whether you want to eat super healthy or whether you want to indulge. (as you can see from some of the healthy photos, and some of the artery blocking, sugar filled treats we had)
ROOM SERVICE: They do offer 24 hour room service! Of course we had to get room service a few times to take full advantage of eating it out on that magnificent deck! It was always prompt and delivered with a professional flare.
Pool: The sun hits afternoon, so in the morning is the best time to read your book, be on your phone, while it’s still shady. Service is great, entertainment team has Spanish lessons, water aerobics, black jack, kayaking, volleyball, yoga, all the stuff you can expect from a resort. We loved being in the Bali Beds, which you can pick from ocean view or pool view.
Beach: Small beach, but has everything you need. Beautiful water and much quieter than downtown PV
The Staff/Service: Here is where I could write for days. The service is incredible and improved from already wonderful service last year. Guest services manager Luis sent up champagne and strawberries to our room for us. The front desk agents Myra, Michelle and many others recognized us from last year and made everything a BREEZE for us (so friendly and considerate), Enrique (server at the pool) is fantastic at his job, funny, and very interactive. Room service from Roberto was prompt and always set up perfectly! Ivan the social media manager was a thrill to meet as well! I am missing about a million names because we have met so many wonderful people that work at this hotel!
They even set up the absolute most romantic surprise for us in the room. We were NOT expecting it and it actually brought me to tears! Just watch this video and see for yourself! 😉
Unique Mention: Find the themed lounges throughout the resort. A tequila lounge with every bottle imaginable (Floor 12), a Mojito lounge with swings, a Martini lounge… these are all a must see! Located in all different towers and different floors, a great ‘add on’ for the guests! Do yourself a favour and find them during your stay!
SKYBAR on floor 5 (above lobby) is also a hot spot!
Grand Floor Lounge: One of the vest views in the hotel. You can grab food all day like: smaller breakfast, snacks, and desserts. PREMIUM liqueurs, coffee machine, desks for working, TV’s, and a stunning outdoor space with tables and couches. (Orange and Red bracelets get access)
WHAT the “GRAND” gets you: The ‘grand level’ rooms (including the grand, master, governor and presidential) gets you: Access to the SkyBar, Private cabanas at the pool RESERVED for you (which are amazing), access to top shelf alcohol, access to the Grand Club lounge, upgraded amenities in the room, nicer class of rooms, etc.

Grand Fiesta Americana = THE SUMMARY:
The best parts for us:
The many staff that we call FRIENDS now have because of our 2 stays at this hotel. The jaw dropping Governor suite with its breathtaking views. The luxurious add ons you get with Grand Club. If you are comparing All Inclusive resorts in Puerto Vallarta, just stay here and thank us later!
Just to add:
Bring tips for the staff. I find that some people have no problem tipping in USA or Canada, but then hold back in an All Inclusive. All the staff we saw were so caring and did phenomenal work, and in our opinion, deserve to be tipped for the art of good service.
