Visiting idyllic paradise locations is set to become easier than ever for many U.S. travelers.

Boasting crystal clear waters, snow-white beaches, the world’s largest underwater cave system, and the world’s third-largest barrier reef, visitors flock from all over the world to explore the Bahamas.

A beautiful tourist in the Bahamas

With over 700 islands there’s something for everyone. And now Delta is launching new nonstop flights to 4 of these beautiful islands.

Here’s what you need to know:

Where Can You Travel?

From November 5, Delta will be launching 4 new nonstop routes from Atlanta’s Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Tilloo Cay, Marsh Harbour, Abaco, The Bahamas.

Atlanta is Delta’s primary hub, and the Bahamas is a popular vacation destination for travelers from the area.

The new routes are:

  • Atlanta to Eleuthera. This route will operate 3 times per week from November 5. Throughout the festive season, this will expand to a daily service.

  • Atlanta to Marsh Harbour. This route will operate 5 times per week from November 5. There will be flights on Mondays. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

  • Atlanta to Exuma. Delta will also operate this route 5 times per week from November 5. Flights will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

  • Atlanta to Nassau. Delta will operate daily flights on this route.

Exploring New Destinations

Nassau is the most popular destination in the Bahamas, and it is also one of the largest. Just over 70% of the entire population of The Bahamas live in Nassau.

Nassau is the bustling capital of the Bahamas and an incredibly busy cruise port. It is a great starting point for a vacation exploring the beauty of the Bahamas.

But the new flights being launched by Delta provide an opportunity to explore smaller and lesser visited Bahaman islands too.

Eleuthera is known for being among the friendliest places in the world. There are very few direct flights available to this beautiful island despite it boasting some of the best luxury resorts in the Bahamas.

The island is known for its pineapple plantations and idyllic yet elusive beaches. The world-famous Lighthouse Beach, Twin Coves Beach, and Double Bay Beach are all located on the island of Eleuthera.

Marsh Harbour is the commercial center of the Abacos Islands, and a flight here will give you access to all of the attractions these islands have to offer.

The main islands are Great Abaco and Little Abaco, which is located just west of the northern tip of Great Abaco.

The Exumas are best known for their sapphire blue waters and for being the home of the world-famous swimming pigs.

The Exumas are themselves a chain of 365 unique islands (one for each day of the year) many of which are uninhabited meaning that it’s possible to find your own piece of paradise if you choose this location for your vacation destination.

Why Visit The Bahamas?

There are many great reasons to choose to visit the Bahamas for your next vacation, and increased flight destination options will only make some of the more remote or unusual Bahaman destinations easier to reach.

People visit the Bahamas for the balmy Caribbean climate, the warm and welcoming people and the incredible local food.

Of course the beaches are the main attraction but the Bahamas has so much more to offer than just great expanses of sand. Outdoor adventurers can enjoy the natural beauty offered by the islands as well as experiencing life beneath the waves.

A visit to the Bahamas is a unique experience. The islands are famous for their beautiful and luxurious resorts and hotels.

Now, it is possible to fly to a new location without having to travel from a hub airport via boat, giving you more time to relax and unwind and less time spent traveling.
