Looking for the perfect U.S. city break destination? These are the top cities to visit this winter according to a new report.

WalletHub analyzed more than 70 cities in the United States for the best winter getaway. The resulting ranking is based on dozens of factors including weather, cost, convenience, and things to do.

Check out these great U.S. cities if you’re looking for inspiration for your next trip:

1. Las Vegas, Nevada

There’s so much more to Las Vegas than just casinos. Although the city has earned the nickname “Lost Wages” due to the propensity of tourists to lose money gambling, there are actually a lot of better ways to spend your money in Las Vegas.

The city has become an entertainment hub, with lots of world-class shows, concerts, and unique and immersive experiences to check out. This year alone, more than half a dozen new attractions have opened in Las Vegas, many of them family-friendly.

2. San Diego, California

San Diego is one of the best warm-weather winter destinations in the United States, with average daily highs in the low seventies throughout the winter months.

There’s a lot to do in San Diego during the winter. While it may be too chilly to swim in the ocean, you can still enjoy a walk along stunning shorelines like La Jolla Shores Beach and La Jolla Cove. (Winter is even the best time to spot baby seals being born on the beach!)

Or spend a day at the San Diego Zoo, where you’re guaranteed to see lots of wildlife. For those who are more outdoorsy, you can take a hike at the scenic Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve.

3. San Antonio, Texas

As the saying goes, everything’s bigger and better in Texas, which makes it the perfect destination for a getaway this winter.

While several Texas cities made it into the top spots of the WalletHub ranking, I personally like San Antonio the best. This historic city is famously home to the Alamo, a historic mission that became the site of the battle for Texan independence from Mexico in 1836.

For history buffs, the Alamo and the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park are must-visits (and they’re both free!) Another one of the top things to do in San Antonio is stroll along the River Walk, a pedestrian street lined with restaurants along the river.

4. Charleston, South Carolina

Another top destination is Charleston, South Carolina. This small Southern city is ideal for a weekend getaway. It’s a foodie paradise, especially if you like Southern comfort food. It’s also a great place for shopping, with Charleston City Market in the center of the city, along with many boutiques.

It’s also a beautiful and romantic city, with quaint cobblestone streets lined with palm trees and colorful historic buildings. Don’t miss strolling past Rainbow Row, a colorful street that has to be the most photographed place in Charleston!

5. Tampa, Florida

Finally, Tampa is the perfect destination if you’re looking for a warm and sunny getaway this winter. With weather in the high seventies and low eighties even during the winter months, this Sunshine State destination is a great place to go to escape the cold.

Tampa is home to family-friendly attractions like the Busch Gardens theme park, the Florida Aquarium, and ZooTampa. However, the city of Tampa is not actually located on the beach.

If you’re looking for the best beaches near Tampa, I recommend staying in St. Pete’s Beach or Clearwater Beach. Both towns are right on the coast with amazing beaches, and yet they’re still just a short drive away from the top attractions in Tampa.
