If you’re unsure of where to even start your search, it might be worth considering the overall trends we’re seeing this time of year.

Recent data released by Expedia Group Media Solutions highlighted the most booked destinations during the last few months of 2023.

For North American travelers, these were the cities that made it to the top 5:

5. Orlando, Florida

The enchanting central Floridian city is probably best known for being home to more than a dozen theme parks, attracting thrill-seekers from all over the world.

It probably goes without saying, though, that the local crown jewel and biggest international attraction is the Walt Disney World Resort, where Cinderella’s Castle presides over a world of family-friendly fun.

Between the colorful parades, adrenaline-pumping rides, and lively meet-and-greets, the Magic Kingdom creates an immersive experience that caters to visitors of all ages and backgrounds – hence its unshakable popularity.

Those who aren’t in the mood for Disney World can take their pick between Universal Orlando Resort, Legoland, and Seaworld, all offering the same fun-filled experience but with a unique twist.

Don’t worry, though; Orlando’s attractions don’t end with its theme parks.

The Kennedy Space Center, Orlando Science Center, and Orlando Museum of Art all provide travelers with an educational, insightful experience that’ll stay with them for a long time.

4. Chicago, Illinois

Chicago is one of America’s most remarkable testaments to architectural ingenuity and a must-visit for everyone looking to revel in a culture-filled city break this winter.

Millennium Park, with its iconic Cloud Gate sculpture, often referred to as “The Bean,” is arguably the area’s most widely recognized landmark.

Though a bit touristy and overcrowded, the downtown Chicago gem is not to be missed.

Here, you can enjoy the park’s open-air concerts, interactive fountains, art installations, skating rinks, rock climbing spaces, and the serene views of Lurie Garden.

The next stop on every culture enthusiast’s itinerary should be the Art Institute of Chicago, home to an extensive collection of artworks from the impressionist masterpieces of Monet to the contemporary brilliance of Warhol.

3. Los Angeles, California

Chances are that the unofficial entertainment capital of the world is already on your travel bucket list, and for good reason.

There’s no shortage of iconic attractions to marvel at in the city, including the star-studded Holywood Walk of Fame, the TCL Chinese Theatre, the Griffith Observatory, and the Santa Monica Pier, which manages to capture the essence of Southern California’s beach culture.

Those feeling a bit more adventurous can make the hike up to the legendary Hollywood sign – just keep in mind that the whole journey (including driving up to the trailhead and walking) can take up to three hours, so come prepared.

2. Las Vegas, Nevada

Las Vegas is the type of place whose atmosphere and landmarks feel remarkably familiar, even to those who’ve never had the chance to visit the city.

If that’s you, make this the time to change that and book some tickets to experience the city that never sleeps firsthand.

Your main attraction here will obviously be The Strip, which can only be described as a spectacle of opulent resorts, entertainment shows, and the type of thrilling nightlife that’ll create life-long memories.

1. New York, New York

It seems like America’s beating heart refuses to let go of its crown as the country’s most coveted destination, attracting hundreds of millions of visitors and rightfully taking over the no.1 spot on today’s list.
